Local Ways to Help Victims of the LA Fires
Give in Yucca through Friday, and online opportunities to lend a hand
Big-hearted Morongo Basin residents have given generously to aid fire victims. We have opened our doors and made our short-term rentals available to house those who have lost their homes or who have been without power for days. Twentynine Palms City Manager volunteered with the Los Angles County sheriff’s department to help search and rescue efforts. Here are some other ways to help.

Grief x Hope
Many of our neighbors are artists who move between the high desert and the Los Angeles area. Co-founded by artist and part-time Yucca Valley resident Andrea Bowers, this is an artist and gallery-run effort to support artists and art workers who are displaced and who have lost employment due to the fires, There is a mutual aid form with details for those able to offer needed temporary housing, and a Go Fund Me. They are reporting progress via Instagram.

Pasadena Humane Society
People here have a big heart for animals, and the Pasadena Humane Society has stepped up to help pets displaced and harmed by the Eaton fire. They also serve as a hub for getting help for wildlife. Donate here.
