Morongo Basin Residents Join Nationwide "Hands Off" Protests
Our video and photo album of the April 5 rally
Morongo Basin residents showed their disapproval with the direction of the federal government as led by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk on Saturday, April 5. An estimated 250 people lined the four corners at Hwy 62 and Park Blvd. to join a nationwide “Hands Off” protest called by a coalition of more than 150 organizations including Indivisible, 50501 and locally, Morongo Basin Resistance. At least 1,600 protests took place across the country, with 100,000 people reported as gathering on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Here are a few videos and images from the local contribution to nationwide dissent:

However, if you have the means to support our work, we always appreciate upgrades to a paid subscription. Your upgrade helps keep subscriptions free for those who cannot afford to donate.
Note: Your subscription/donation will be listed as AHA Projects, the name of our fiscal receiver, on your statement.
Looks like numbers for protesters were estimated at 100,000 each* for NYC and DC, and 500,000 overall according to https://www.axios.com/2025/04/05/hands-off-protest-movement-trump-musk
