The town government doesn't seem to remember the fiasco of the 2013 city manager hiring and seems to be repeating that scenario all over again !! Then Mayor Klink should recall that.

What a mystery the hiring of a new City Manager is happening. All done behind closed doors, possibly in some smoke filled back-room with the public expected to accept the person they select along with the salary and benefits they provide.

The blind leading the blind in the selection process with city residents forced to accept whatever !

To be fair the process for hiring the City Manager has not started, which is why we still have time in ensure a transparent process.l

This process MUST be transparent, and I would think that this would be of foremost importance to the Council to build trust between the Council and the community. Doing it behind closed doors gives the impression that "the fix is in" so to speak, and rightly or wrongly, people already are suspicious. Even if they all have the very best intentions, without transparency it will not be received that way. —Joseph Carder
