Wow. I've been in so many meetings like this. But here's an organization without a clear charter I think.

If the objective is to get more people spending money in 29, (seems reasonable), then consider that there are thousands of people trying to get through the bottleneck at west entrance (even the park says go to 29), and 29 has better accommodations, better food, shorter lines, everything. Seems like an easy sell. I can't imagine why we need "events" when we have an over-flowing national park next door. There's no shortage people; just get them to stay in 29.

I used to volunteer at the Visitor Center and people were always asking what can I do, where can I eat, in 29. Could never get anything to help them out.

Good observation. You're 100% correct. Downtown needs to be revitalized. None of the stores have the same set hours, I couldn't find a trash can anywhere. A storage unit facility is the main attraction. Parking lots facing the streets. It's not very inviting. Who is going to stay Downtown with those options.
