Thank you for the latest issue of Desert Trumpet. I am surprised that there is not mention of Francoise Lazard's presentation of the Shoot in 29 Palms initiative spearheaded by Desert General to promote Twentynine Palms as a film, tv, commercial shooting destination.

quite a few film, music, video enterprises use the desert as scenery in their products. ( music videos: ZZ Top, indie film movies: Jason Mamoa's Ride to Palomar film with Roy's in Amboy).

plenty of desert to film here if invited and attracted.

perhaps music attractions at the Visitor Center. cover, tribute bands similar, but not competing with the Casino. the casino night music attracts a substantial number of local residents. i believe Yucca has started something similar in their park.

Auto shows & meets attract a sizable audience.

not many local attractions require an overnight stay, so hotels, STR's don't benefit much.

with HALF A MILLION DOLLARS in their kitty, it will not attract anything until spent. it seems the only attractions are nearby attractions and NOT in 29 palms.

Hi Patrick, did Francoise present during public comment? We always try to cover public comment in detail as you know. But, unfortunately, our reporter wasn't present for public comment in this meeting and we should have noted that. I have added that note now.

For most City meetings it's not an issue because the meetings are video taped and we can catch anything that's missing. But as you know the City has refused to videotape the TBID, the PAAC and the Homeless Committee meetings. Those are all very hard for us to cover given the small size of our writing staff. We're trying though!!

Hi Cindy, How are you? Yes, Francoise presented the Shoot in 29 Palms initiative during public comment. No problem. I understand the situation. Thanks for getting back to me. Patrick
